Dr. Affaq Qamar is Assistant Professor at US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar. He graduated from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy in Dec 2015 with a PhD in Electrical Engineering under the Human Resource Development program of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. He has received his MS degree in Integrated Electronic System Design from Chalmers University of Technology in 2010. He holds BS in Electrical Engineering degree from UET Peshawar for the session 2003-07. His research interests are power electronics, smart grid, blockchain technology, design methodologies for electronic system design, high-level synthesis, low-power design architectures, embedded system design for IoTs, and green energy.   • PI ($30,000 US), “An innovative demonstration for low energy buildings: components, energy techniques and ICT tools”, by U.S Pakistan Center for Advance Studies in Energy (U.S PCAS-E), University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar during 2016-17.
  • Co-PI (30,000$), “Synthesis of nano-fluid to improve the thermal and dielectric breakdown strength of transformer oil”, Applied Research Grant, USAID.
  • Co-PI (10,000 Euros), “PoliTo at Pakistan (PAP) – Internationalization of academic affairs”, Italian University Grant by Politecnico di Torino, Italy during 2016.
  • Project Member (4.2 Million Euros), “ECOSCALE: Energy-Efficient Heterogeneous Computing at exaSCALE, Horizon 2020 Project, by European Union Commission.
  • Project Member (148,061 Euros), “Sensor for 3D Vision (3DV #297463), Proof of Concept grant”, supported by European Research Council (ERC).
  • Project Member (5 Million Euros), “Demonstration of very low energy new buildings, FP7 Cooperation Work Program 2011, Theme (Energy), European Union Commission.
