Widening Access and Participation USPCAS-E UET Peshawar holds Women Outreach Session Featured

USPCAS-E staff conducted a “Women Outreach Session” as part of its media and outreach Campaign under Fall Admissions 2016. This special session held on 17th August, 2016 was mainly focused on women with the objective to extend the benefits of scholarships to talented women engineers with electrical engineering background. They were informed about admission procedure,   benefits such as 50 % seats for women, allied facilities, U.S. exchange program and gender equity action plan.  Around 13 aspiring candidates from different backgrounds attended the session. Dr. Najeeb Ullah, Director USPCAS-E UET Peshawar welcomed the students and Adnan Alam, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist made a presentation on USPCAS-E admissions program.

Engr. Saad Rashid and Enrg. Muhamamd Ishaq, students of M.Sc. Electrical Energy System Engineering (batch: 1) shared their views on the U.S. exchange program they attended from January-May 2016. They said, the exchange program was beneficial for selecting their research area and working directly with world renowned faculty of ASU. As part of exchange program, the students had the chance to take part in a range of events including lectures, tutorials, entrepreneurship courses and a variety of social events with international students. “It was an ideal opportunity for us to find out more about life in the United States” they said.  The outreach campaign aims to provide information, advice and guidance to academically able students, and faculty members about current and upcoming USPCAS E’s Master’s programs.
