The U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, (USPCAS-E) UET Peshawar organized a one-day book fair in collaboration with National Book Foundation here today. The book fair arranged at the Academic block attracted a large number of students and visitors. Literature, religion and fiction.

Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Engineering UET Peshawar inaugurated the book fair having 5000 books offering upto 40% discount. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Noor Muhammad said the Book Fair was aimed at providing a platform to enhance interaction among students, researchers and academia that would help increase their knowledge. He expressed his concern that with the technological development, book reading trend was declining. He underscored the need to promote book reading habit to help students improve their ideological growth besides internet-based information and e-library resources. “Such platforms are to remind students about the importance of reading and keeping reservoir of books. Students cannot access internet all the time due to energy crisis and limited resources, therefore, such forums should be held frequently to share the benefits of physical resources with students,” adding, “the role of institutions in promoting this habit is critical in todays’ competitive environment,” he remarked.
Dr. Noor Muhammad appreciated the efforts of Dr Najeeb Ullah, Director USPCAS-E UET Peshawar and Murad Ali Mohmand, Director National Book Foundation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for holding the Book Fair. He urged the Center to introduce latest digital library resources to UET Peshawar so that academia and students collectively benefit from the up-to-date academic resources.
