Send-off reception held for USPCAS-E Students leaving for US Featured

A send-off reception was held at U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), UET Peshawar for 16 students and faculty members of U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E) that will be spending one semester at the Arizona State University (ASU) as part of the exchange program funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The send-off reception was attended by officials from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar and USPCAS-E management. The exchange program in partnership with the Arizona State University is coordinated through the USAID-funded U.S.-Pakistan Centers for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E). The program offers promising students an opportunity to enhance their research skills and industry awareness and also provides faculty members an opportunity to upgrade their teaching and corporate-partnership skills.

This initiative of the U.S. Government in the energy sector is part of the broader U.S. commitment to support the Government of Pakistan in its efforts to strengthen the country’s energy sector.  By the end of the program in 2019, approximately 100 graduate students and faculty members from USPCAS-E (UET Peshawar) will have availed the opportunity to carry out applied energy research at Arizona State University as part of USAID’s $127 million U.S.-Pakistan Centers for Advanced Studies in Energy program.
