Seminar on Energy Policy Dialogue

USPCAS- E UET Peshawar conducted a one day seminar on “Energy Policy Dialogue” on 4th October 2015. The Energy Policy Dialogue is an essential component of USPCAS-E’s Cooperative Agreement which provides a forum to three key stakeholders: academia, industry and government to make recommendations for an effective and efficient energy policy framework. The Center provided this opportunity where relevant players gathered to identify problems and challenges each stakeholder is facing in respective sector and looked into the possibilities for concerted efforts. USPCAS-E UET Peshawar participated in USAID’s live Radio Pogram ‘Hum Aap Aur Behtar Zindigi’ on FM-101 on 10th September, 2015. U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy,(USPCAS-E) University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar organized a start-up weekend, an intense two day brainstorming and business-building event as part of its Entrepreneurial Spirit Program from 28th to 29th August. The event was held in collaboration with the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), UET Peshawar. The “Startup Weekend” trained a diverse group of graduating engineering students of UET Peshawar who were gathered to create and develop innovative new products and projects. Master’s in Electrical Energy System Engineering Program Commenced The U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E) at University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar USPCAS E UET Peshawar) has commenced its Master’s degree program in Electrical Energy System Engineering for academic session (2015-16). The Center has offered USAID’s Merit and Needs Based Scholarships to 21 eligible students coming from economically disadvantaged families of Pakistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA.) Entrance Test for Academic Session 2015-16 of University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar was conducted on 6th August 2015 simultaneously at Peshawar, Abbottabad, Swat and D.I. Khan. In Peshawar, the test was conducted on two venues; Islamia Collegiate Ground and Cricket Ground at University of Peshawar. Around 14253 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan appeared for the entrance test. The USPCAS E UET team visited two selected centers in Peshawar to disseminate an awareness program focusing on scholarship opportunities including full financial assistance covering tuition, living and academic allowance to students who qualify for admissions.
