U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E) at UET Peshawar is a new initiative funded by USAID with the aim to address the challenges faced by the energy sector in Pakistan. USPCAS-E has recently awarded Research Grants for the projects in the areas that will have direct impact on the Pakistan Energy economy, industry, utilities, and workforce. Opportunities are available for motivated and competent Engineers/Scientist to work on the following projects.

Projects details are:

1. Mechanical Testing and Failure Analysis of PV Modules

Project partners:

USPCAS-E and Mechanical Department, UET Peshawar

Our expectations for Project Engineer/Scientist:

  • MS/M.Phil/PhD (enrolled in Pakistani university)
  • Expertise in mechanical testing and failure analysis of PV modules
  • Report/conference publication/journal publication writing skills
  • Good communication skills

Salary:

  • MS/M.Phil enrolled student = 20,000 PKR/month
  • PhD enrolled student = 25,000 PKR/month

Contract Period:
From 1 month to 12 months
Certificate will be awarded to Project Engineer/Scientist at the end of contract period

  • Expertise in nano-particle synthesis for fuel cell applications

U .S. Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Peshawar is a new initiative with the mission to support Pakistan's economic development by strengthening relevance and responsiveness of university products, including applied and policy research and skilled graduates, to the needs of public and private sectors.

Financial & Grants Manager

 

· The incumbent holding this position will provide overall technical and administrative leadership in the areas of financial management and grants management for the CAS project at UET-P.

· General responsibilities will include accounts payable, cost allocation, quarterly reporting, payroll, budget preparation, grants management, and tracking support.

· In addition, the Manager will be responsible for setting up the CAS grants manuals, policies, procedures, performance score cards and reporting systems and requirements that are compliant and congruent with USAID grants management regulations.

· A minimum of five years of experience in Financial Management and post-graduate qualifications in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or Accounting;

· Experience with international development programs and actors, and with universities and institutions of higher education. Experience managing grants under a USAID-funded project preferred;

· Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, leadership, creative problem-solving and ethical management;

· Strong data analysis and report writing skills;

· Excellent oral and written communication skills; and

· English language fluency is required. Knowledge of Urdu and other local languages strongly preferred.
